As of 1 June 2025, Ronald Meijers, one of the key architects of the successful merger between ABAB and Alfa, will step down from his position as Vice-Chair of the Executive Board of aaff. However, Meijers will remain affiliated with aaff, shifting his focus to leadership development.
With the integration of both organisations progressing successfully, the decision was made in close consultation with the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board for Meijers to concentrate on APLE (aaff Permanent Leadership Education) from 1 June 2025 onwards. In this new role, he will focus on ensuring that aaff’s leaders possess the necessary expertise to realise the organisation's mission, vision, and strategy.
As Vice-Chair of the Executive Board, Meijers played a pivotal role during a challenging period for aaff. When Executive Chair Fouk Tsang’s return was uncertain due to his wife’s severe illness and eventual passing, Meijers provided essential leadership and stability. After guiding the organisation through this critical transition, Meijers reflected that the role of Vice-Chair no longer fully aligns with his personal ambitions, though his connection to aaff remains strong.
Meijers stated: “I still want to contribute wholeheartedly to bringing the aaff story to life, as a dedicated colleague.”
In close collaboration with the aaff Academy team, Meijers will dedicate approximately two days per week to further developing the APLE modules, as well as enhancing the quality of peer supervision and coaching. Additionally, through his own firm LEADD (Leadership, Transformation & Governance), Meijers will focus on interim management, boardroom coaching, and consultancy.
Fouk Tsang commented: “We are very pleased that Ronald will continue to be involved with our organisation, bringing his unique experience and knowledge. His expertise remains invaluable to aaff. On behalf of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board, I want to sincerely thank Ronald for his dedication and contributions as an Executive Board Member, particularly for his role as an architect of the merger and his leadership during the transition period. We look forward to his continued valuable contributions to the further development of leadership within our organisation.”
Ronald Meijers’ position on the Executive Board will not be immediately filled. The Executive Board members Fouk Tsang, Arnoud Bosch and Linda Sas will continue to lead the organisation together.
